This is a Slavic legend, where the vengeful spirits could devastate entire cities, as well as to individuals and households. The legend of the ancient city of Slavensk called once Setzka or Toa, a city of European Russia and capital of Saporoschzen that the spirits could lead to its people desperate to make sacrifices. Long ago, the slaves of the Danube Valley City Slavensk founded. However, according to legend was built without the offerings and rituals used to be done to propitiate the spirits. Within a few years, the city was devastated by a plague and the survivors decided to re-establish the colony, this time offering prayers and sacrifices to ensure their future prosperity.

Thus, the child was burned alive under the foundations of the new city, which was christened with the name Dyetinets. However, bad luck the first city persisted, until one day Dyetinets was consumed by flames. Its terrified inhabitants knew then that they leave the place looking for a new city, near Novgorod, finally freed of his misfortunes and prospered for many generations.
