The cottage is around 400 years old in a village that has been around since AD40.

is there a hearth in the rear of the house? I have a heavy feeling but that can be due to lack of windows and power lines so close

The fireplace that I have posted a picture of is located at the end (right in the above photograph) However at the opposite end of the house there is a coal burning fireplace that has an oven attached to it.

Is there something Roman nearby?

I think either under the fireplace or oven, a tunnel or at least artifacts. Do you get that as well "T"?

Most likely, I am about 20 miles southwest of Bath England where all of the Roman Baths are. I've only lived in this cottage for about 7 months.

I feel like something is flowing by, an aqueduct or stream that might be connected to the Romans close by.

This area has a lot of underground rivers and caves. It is about two miles east of Cheddar Gorge and about 4 miles west of Wookie Hole Cave. I will definitely do some checking around, you both seem to be spot on.

Thanks, both of you!
